The "Green Heart": Styria reception in Vienna

On 29 September 2023, Styrian Governor Christopher Drexler, Deputy Governor Anton Lang and Provincial Councillor Barbara Eibinger-Miedl invited visitors to present Styria in all its facets under the motto "The Green Heart in Vienna". JOANNEUM RESEARCH was there.

Exhibition

The exhibitors from the fields of industry to cuisine, from folk culture to business as well as science and tourism presented an impressive showcase of Styria in Vienna. Under the motto "The Green Heart in Vienna", around 300 guests - mainly Styrians living in Vienna - accepted the invitation of the Styrian government. JOANNEUM RESEARCH was represented with an exhibition stand and was able to introduce new, digital technologies to an interested audience with three innovative exhibits.

We presented ...

  • ... a multispectral camera system that is unique in Austria and enables the recording of data sets from which a wide range of material properties can be derived. These are used, for example, to characterise waste streams in waste separation.
  • ... the W-CubeSat, which was launched into space with a Falcon 9 rocket in 2021 and enables the transmission of satellite signals in the W-band (75 GHz) and Q-band (37.5 GHz) from orbit and reception in Graz for the first time.
  • ... the JR_IcoDome32L microphone array, which has 32 microphones and is optimised for precise 3D localisation and signal extraction of sound sources using beamforming. The array is used to monitor large transformers and to detect and localise vehicles and flying objects.
