JOANNEUM RESEARCH's networks in this region have been successively expanded in recent years in order to utilise the opportunities in the very economically strong northern Italian region. A Styrian delegation, led by Provincial Councillor Barbara Eibinger-Miedl and our Managing Director Heinz Mayer, recently travelled to the neighbouring country to deepen relations.
At meetings with representatives of the Universities of Bolzano and Udine, the NOI Technology Park in Bolzano, the South Tyrolean research organisation EURAC Research and representatives of companies (including one of the largest companies in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Danieli & C. Officine Meccaniche SpA. Officine Meccaniche SpA), opportunities for cooperation with JOANNEUM RESEARCH were explored and specific projects in the planning stage were discussed. The talks were rounded off with a reception hosted by the Deputy Mayor of Udine.
