We research key skin processes (including physiological and pathological wound healing and skin ageing at all levels with the aim of gaining a better understanding of the development of chronic wounds, impaired scarring and chronic diseases. Based on this, we develop new treatment methods in the spirit of precision medicine. We develop customised, clinically relevant in-vivo, ex-vivo and in-vitro skin models to evaluate new and existing wound dressings and medical devices (e.g. skin substitutes).
