Digital Health Sweden 2025: A Deep Dive into Innovation and Patient-Centered Care

From 2 to 4 September, JOANNEUM RESEARCH organised a study trip for a delegation of Austrian research institutions and companies to Stockholm and Uppsala in Sweden. The aim was to explore Sweden's digital health ecosystem.

For three days, participants engaged in high-level, practical discussions with leading institutions and start-ups, including:

  • The Swedish eHealth Agency (E‑hälsomyndigheten)
  • Swecare and health tech startups, including A3P Biomedical, Care to Translate, ImagineCare, and Worldish
  • Inera AB with the national patient portal 1177.se
  • Uppsala University and the Participatory eHealth & Health Data Research Group at Uppsala University
  • The Nordic Hospital at Home Society & Medoma on the topic of acute care at home
  • The Health Informatics Group at Karolinska Institutet on the topic of patient-centered digital solutions

 

Topics included Hospital at Home, national patient portals, eHealth infrastructure and much more.

The study visit provided valuable insights into Sweden's digital health strategies and offered an opportunity to discuss common challenges and future cooperation.

JOANNEUM RESEARCH will continue to promote international partnerships in the future in order to jointly develop solutions that benefit patients and providers.
