Abstract:
Trees are known to provide central atmospheric carbon sinks and sources and therefore, reliable andaccurate monitoring of carbon stocks and biomass changes is crucial to understand the impact ofvarying forest biomass on the global carbon cycle (Tsitsi, 2016). Remote sensing offers data andmethods to assess forest extent and change as well as biomass density from local to global scale.
