Key Researcher for innovative software solutions in the field of navigation and signal processing

€ 4.868,- gross, payable 14 x per year (aliquot) - willingness to overpay with appropriate qualifications and experience
Depending on your qualifications, your responsibilities will focus on the following areas
- Leading national and international research projects as a Senior Scientist
- Developing and implementing innovative solutions in the fields of high-precision GNSS and multi-sensor localisation, resilient PNT (jamming/spoofing detection, characterisation, localisation and mitigation), time-series analysis and signal processing.
- Coordinating interdisciplinary project teams: task, deadline and budget planning
- Contributing to the acquisition of national and international research projects
- Scientific collaboration on national and international research projects, with a focus on methodological development in the field of GNSS
- Reporting to group management, clients and external funding bodies
- Contributing to scientific publications and conferences
- Research work in a specialist area of GNSS
- Technical integration into customer solutions
- Acquisition and management of research and implementation projects
- Publications and participation in specialist conferences
- Progression to the role of thematic lead for a research team
Your qualifications
- a completed PhD, or equivalent professional experience
- interest in networking activities and research collaboration
- Knowledge of national and European research funding programmes (EU, ESA, FFG, FWF), including the application process
- a very good grounding in relevant scientific disciplines (e.g. communications engineering, signal processing, mathematics, artificial intelligence)
- very good programming skills in Python and/or C++
- experience in implementing AI software solutions would be an advantage
- communication and presentation skills in German (Level C1)
- very good command of English for documentation and technical discussions
- ability to work independently and in a goal-oriented manner
- strong teamwork and communication skills; experience in team leadership would be an advantage
- Experience in implementing customer-focused solutions and in customer service
- Willingness to undergo an expanded background check

- a fair and market-aligned salary of € 4.868 gross per month, payable 14 times a year (pro rata), based on the collective bargaining agreement for employees in non-university research – adjusted to regional labor market conditions – we will of course pay a market-standard salary above the collective agreement depending on professional experience and qualifications (e.g. doctorate)
