COREMED

Detailed characterization of inflammatory processes after burns

In the recently approved FFG-BRIDGE project, JOANNEUM RESEARCH/COREMED, the Clinical Department of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery of MedUni Graz and EVOMEDIS GmbH, a company specializing in the development of new therapies for the treatment of burn wounds, are working together under the direction of Elisabeth Hofmann to characterize inflammatory processes after burns in detail.

The new findings on local processes of wound healing should contribute to the identification of novel therapeutic approaches in the future. Innovative therapeutic approaches should then improve wound healing and reduce scarring after burns.
