On 14th November about 50 project members, partners and guest speakers met for the IV ARCHES Community Workshop at DLR / Oberpfaffenhofen to plan the demo-missions (space in summer and deep sea in October 2020). The workshop included guest lectures, work package presentations and splinter sessions. In joint discussions, questions were answered, next steps decided and information exchanged.

DI Gerhard Paar from the research group Machine Vision Applications of JOANNEUM RESEARCH spoke about 3D image processing in planetary surface missions. The work of the institute DIGITAL to prepare the 3D vision processing of PanCam / NavCam / LocCam data of the European-Russian ExoMars 2020 mission as well as for Mastcam-Z of the US Mars-2020 mission has strong synergies to ARCHES. Further cooperation talks have already been initiated.
