Around 100 researchers from the Alps-Adriatic-Danube region and beyond gathered at Klagenfurt's Lakeside Science & Technology Park to take part in the three-day RAAD conference. The organisers of the International Conference on Robotics in Alps-Adriatic-Danube Region were the ROBOTICS Institute and the Institute of Robotics at the Johannes Kepler University Linz.
After the official opening words, the founding father Jadran Lenarčič started with his Opening Address to introduce the following conference days. In addition to exciting paper presentations on robotics topics such as "Autonomous Mobile Manipulation", "Collaborative Robotics" or "Robot Design and Synthesis", there were also three highly informative keynotes by Arne Wahrburg, Bruno Siciliano and Mike Mayer.
The second day of the conference also had two other highlights. On the one hand, there was a short afternoon break with a lab tour of the ROBOTICS Institute and the drone hall of the Alpen-Adria University. On the other hand, the RAAD participants were invited to the gala dinner on the ship DS Thalia to experience a boat trip on Lake Wörthersee during dinner.
