Concept and research area AAL (Active & Assisted Living) has emerged as a response to a worldwide demographic change and is developing as age-appropriate assistance system for a healthy and independent life. Innovation platform for intelligent assistance in everyday life AAL AUSTRIA and the Salzburg Research Company organized together the first AAL Practice Conference in order to provide an information, support and the practical exchange with the end users and operators. Josef Steiner, Chairman of the Social Association Deutschlandsberg and Maria Fellner, MBA, Head of Business Development at JOANNEUM RESEARCH DIGITAL, invited the AAL community to a dialogue covering issue "IT-supported and personalized multimodal support in M.A.S. - dementia in practice". In the accompanying exhibition were introduced digital technologies, products and services in the field of AAL as well as the collaboration of Austrian AAL test regions (including the Styrian AAL test region RegionAAL).
