DIGITAL has had the privilege of accompanying the Austrian media artist Prof. Richard Kriesche in the information technology implementation of his artistic ideas and sculptures for several decades. From 26.03. - 02.10.2022, an excerpt of his works can be viewed in an exhibition at the Museum der Moderne in Salzburg.

The exhibition pays tribute to Richard Kriesche (1940 Vienna, AT - Graz, AT) as an international pioneer of media art in Austria. His work offers an artistic view of the media, information and digitalisation revolutions from the 1960s to the present. The exhibition takes as its starting point the artist's engagement with current digitalisation phenomena and looks back to their roots and origins - to the principles of dematerialisation, electronisation and informatisation.

In this "solo exhibition" by Richard Kriesche, the newly developed interactive installation of a self-space is supported by works from JOANNEUM RESEARCH with know-how from the IoT Innovation Space from the DIGITAL Institute by Dietmar Maurer and Herwig Zeiner.
