Gerfried Jungmeier represented the LIFE Institute at the cooperation event "Vehicle Batteries Quo Vadis" on 8 November 2023 in Vienna. The Federal Association eMobility-Austria BVe and the ATTC invited participants to shed light on current developments in traction batteries.

In his keynote speech, Gerfried Jungmeier talked about the "Environmental Balance and Circularity in the Life Cycle of Vehicle Batteries". His conclusion:

„Future-proof batteries must be developed in the direction of climate neutrality and circularity. Climate neutrality and circularity can be assessed in a dynamic life cycle analyses. Today's batteries do not fulfil these criteria yet, but there are promising developments in the right direction.“

Together with Helmut Wiedenhofer, Patrizia Ilda Valentini (Renault Austria) and Helmut-Klaus Schimany (Chairman of the Board of BVe Austria), a panel discussion followed.
